Fibre optic cables and their environment

When we go through a fibre optics cable catalogue, we can find a large number of different product varieties and that is when many clients may ask: “Why so many types of cable if I only need X number of fibres and virtually any cable that fulfills this requirement is fine?”

The fact is that any cable is not always fine, or in other words, the cable offered is not always the most suitable for what it is going to be used for.

There is a series of standard cables, cables for indoors, with different reactions to fire, different degrees of protection against rodents, with an inner cover, etc., which we choose from without really knowing their technical properties, either because that is the type of cable in stock, it is the easiest to obtain or simply because it is the best priced cable. These are the products used in most cases, but, as we said at the beginning, this does not mean that they are the most suitable for fulfilling the purpose in hand.

Optral always looks for suitable solutions; by listening to their clients, understanding their requirements, aim and environment, and by providing their experience and technical know-how.

A very easy example in our daily lives to illustrate these market situations could be how we dress according to the area we move in, the type of activity or the environment conditions, which may (or not) be severe, therefore requiring a series of specific characteristics to offer us the most appropriate performance in each situation. Just as we do not think these garments are the same or standard, Optral tries to provide the most suitable product; which does not have to be the standard, or the most expensive or complex.

Send us an e-mail explaining your business needs to amartinez@optral.com, and we will contact you and offer you the best solution, no strings attached.
