Spanish innovation penetrates the aerospace market

We are pleased to inform that the innovation project: “Disruptive and environmentally-friendly data transmitter tape based on fiber optics sensors for real-time structural health monitoring in aircrafts", in which OPTRAL participates, as a technological partner, in cooperation with CINPASA, a spanish leading textile manufacturer of textile and technical tapes;  has been one of the selected projects  within the framework of the GALACTICA European consortium, as a financing instrument for innovative solutions with high added value for the aerospace sector. 

GALACTICA is a consortium that has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program and aims to support the creation of new industrial value chains around the textile and aerospace industries based on advanced manufacturing. 

the GALACTICA consortium received 84 proposals: 55 in the Orbital category, and 29 in the Pioneer category. The CINPASA-OPTRAL proposal was chosen along with 13 other projects in the Orbital category. Each proposal went through an exhaustive in-depth evaluation process that included an external evaluation by a panel of 29 experts in each of the three fields of GALACTICA.
