Optral Drives Future Mobility

OPTRAL is pleased to announce its participation in the project, "SCORPUS – KSSP: Development of intelligent mobility services to support autonomous and semi-autonomous driving"; which will be carried out by a Spanish-Korean consortium.

It is an honor for OPTRAL to be part of this project, which is included in the list of initiatives coordinated by the Center for Industrial Technological Development of Spain (CDTI). This entity, under the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, promotes innovation and technological development among Spanish companies.

After meeting rigorous business requirements, Optral has been selected as a recipient of these funds, actively participating in the SCORPUS – KSSP project with a significant contribution.

The primary objective of this project is the research and development of an advanced and comprehensive tool for managing the state of infrastructure and road safety in the road network.

In this context, OPTRAL will be responsible for the design, testing, and validation of various technologies, including fiber optic sensor cables, DFOS (Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing) interrogation systems, data interpretation algorithms, automatic event detection, and predictive models based on artificial intelligence.

The applications derived from this development, through DFOS technology, will cover the monitoring of key events, such as traffic density, deformation of safety elements, structural health in tunnels, viaducts, and bridges, as well as asphalt structural health.

At OPTRAL, we take pride in contributing to the forefront of technology and safe mobility, and we look forward to achieving significant results in collaboration with our distinguished partners in this project.
