XtremeFire Cables

As of 1 July 2017, all cables intended for permanent installation on construction sites within the EU must comply with the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and have the corresponding CE mark.

In order to meet the most demanding requirements, OPTRAL has developed the XtremeFire+ family of products to attain the long-awaited B2ca classification, and which have one of the highest fire safety performances.

For those indoor connections with two optical fibres in which a direct connection to the terminal equipment is required, the FLAT XtremeFire+ cable can be used, while for a deployment with more fibre density the use of DT-DC XtremeFire+ cable is recommended. The structure of this cable offers a capacity of up to 60 optical fibres, a very small diameter of only 8.1 mm, protection against rodents, and is also totally dry, thus facilitating its handling and connection.

Highly fire-retardant materials have been selected for the production of these cables that, in the event of a fire, hinder the spread of flames, thus facilitating eventual evacuation of a building. Other special features of XtremeFire+ cables are their low emission of opaque fumes and a very low emission of toxic gases and halogens generated during combustion.
